Our Objectives in More Detail:
1. BIODIVERSITY OBJECTIVES
To contribute to biodiversity conservation through long-term improvements to the extent and connectivity of intact natural forest cover and associated structural, composition, functional and High Conservation Value attributes.
2. CLIMATE OBJECTIVES
The project’s climate objectives are to mitigate climate change through measures to alleviate the drivers of deforestation and forest degradation. The resultant decrease in illegal logging, the recovery of already degraded forests, and the reduction of forest conversion to other land uses is expected to decrease emissions and enhance forest carbon stocks over time.
3. SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
The sustainable development objectives of the project are:
4. RESEARCH
The long term goal is to set-up a research station at the project location, with a small in house lab facility and accommodation for researchers to allow them to carry out cutting edge research in species identification and management. As well as opportunities for geological survey and weather monitoring.
4. EDUCATION & OUTREACH
Supporting the sustainable development of the economy and alternative livelihoods through training and technical assistance in agriculture, new varieties of crops, harvesting equipment, processing, transport and logistic infrastructure and Value Chain Development.

3. SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
The sustainable development objectives of the project are:
- Social investments in development planning, infrastructure, health care and education
- Improve local administration, leadership capacity and environmental awareness through training activities which foster equality and intentionally include women and children from the area of Chiriboga
- Improving social equity through the creation and strengthening of local and international institutions
- Strengthen local governance through improvements to land titling, land-use planning and implementation.
